Lucas Winkelman
Hi, my name is Lucas,
I'm a software developer who graduated with a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2020. My experience includes programming work as an intern at the State of Missouri for two summers, as well as back-end development at Shelter Insurance Companies. I'm always dabbling in a cool project or some interesting area of computing.
Cool Projects
Es
A programming language that I developed along with its compiler. Although unfinished, it is unique, inspired by evidence-based language Quorum.
IARC Mission 7 Simulator
A two-dimensional simulation of Internation Aerial Robotics Competition's Mission 7. Click the link to try it out.
Neuroevolution Pong
My own version of NeuroEvolution of Augmenting Topologies (NEAT) method proposed by Ken Stanley et al., and used it to teach a neural network to play pong.
And much, much more...
Work Experience
Software Developer at Shelter Insurance Companies
Helped design back-end applications to pass data from one place to another.
Intern in Missouri State Government, OA-ITSD
Interned at ITSD-DOLIR for the 2018 and 2019 summers. Helped with Data Change Requests (DCRs) to fix data, fixed some code bugs, and also worked to make application deployments faster.
Clubs and Activities
Missouri S&T Multirotor
I was active in the team for most of college, developing a 2-D simulation of Mission 7, a 3-D simulation of it using Gazebo, and a 3-D simulation of Mission 9 with AirSim.
FIRST Robotics
I participated in FIRST robotics throughout much of the primary school years.
ACM Web
For a semester, I worked on upgrading the ACM Website.
ACM Competition
For a semester, I did competitive coding, for example, doing Kattis coding problems.
ACM Security
For a semester, participated in CTFs and learned about cyber-security.
ACM Game
Helped design the game for Fall 2016.
